Celebrities You Didn't Know Originated From Kogi State

The kogi born 90s musicians (late)Olufemi Mayomi better known as Father U Turn who was a song writer, tv producer and presenter, performer and entrepreneur who built a successful music career for him self after moving to lagos as a young orphan. He worked many menial jobs, including domestic helps before getting his break. He became one of the early music stars from okokomaiko where he lived all his life and he was a remarkable musician and entertainer from his native town kabba bunu, in kogi state. Father u turn inspired a generation of ghetto music stars from okomaiko to ajegunle. He died on sunday 17 november 2013. May his soul rest in pefect peace (amen).

 Praiz, a native of Igala in Kogi State was born in Lagos but later relocated to Kaduna in 1992 after his father was transferred there on a missionary work. He is the second child out of four children. He has a National Diploma in Computer Science after graduating from Kaduna Polytechnic.

The kogi born James Oluwajuwonlo Edahi, popularly known as Jaywon, broke into the music industry with a hit track 'File Be'. He grew up in Kogi and Kwara States and studied at the Federal Polytechnic Bida for his National Diploma before proceeding to Lagos enroute Abuja -where he completed his industrial training. He has been nominated for several awards and has won the Nigeria Music Video Award (NMVA) for the best new video in 2009.

Kogi Born Fuji Crooner 'JUMABEE' is a graduate of Fisheries Department at the Federal University of Agriculture Makurdi, Benue State. He has rocked major events in the industry which includes Glo Rock 'n' Rule, Star Mega Jam, President Goodluck Jonathan's 'You Can't Swag My Vote Concert', Nigeria Independent Show, Benue Xmas Festival, Felaboration, Kennis Easter Fiesta, St Remy Club Tour, NYSC P.O.P Lagos to mention a few. Jumabee is currently signed to S2DB ENTERTAINMENT.

Tunde Baiyewu (born Babatunde Emanuel Baiyewu, 25 November 1968)  who hailed from kogi state, is a British singer of Nigerian descent and is a member of the easy listening duo, Lighthouse Family. In 2004 he embarked on a solo career, releasing the album Tunde, and in 2013 released his second album, Diamond in a Rock. Baiyewu is an alumnus of Northumbria University, having completed an Accountancy degree in 1994. In March 2007, Baiyewu married Tope Adeshina, a young Nigerian model, in Lagos, Nigeria. They live in the UK. His mother went on to marry former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo who, like both her and Baiyewu himself, is of the Yoruba ethnic group.
